Giving back to the community

Thank you to all of these Orlando-based organizations who asked me to donate time to their initiatives. You have truly helped make me a better person and I look forward to continuing our relationship.

My Tio’s Pulse is a children’s book conceived and published in 2018 by Newhouse Creative Group in Orlando, Florida. The story explains the 2016 Orlando Pulse tragedy to kids in a non-threatening way. I became Director of Layout & Design as well as a contributing illustrator. A Spanish version of the book is being discussed.

I was approached by Evans High School in Orlando, Florida to become an art mentor. I visited once a week throughout the 2018-2019 school year to provide art instruction and inspiration. I have returned for the 2019-2020 school year, and will visit the students for monthly portfolio reviews.

In March 2019, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Central Florida Charter School asked me to design a mural for a 6 ‘ x 200 ‘ wall at their Pine Hills Campus in Orlando, Florida. The painting was produced and overseen by Joe Starkweather and a group of over 60 friendly and helpful volunteers helped with the painting. The mural was completed on May 10, 2019.

I work directly with the College Park Partnership in Orlando, Florida creating artwork for their utility box initiative. We have painted 9 boxes to date and will be repainting 3 more in the near future.
