Paying it Forward!
In 2021, Many of my original children’s book drawings and illustrations were gifted to the Mazza Museum in Findlay, Ohio. Their mission is to promote literacy and enrich the lives of all people through the art of picture books. Thank you, Mazza Museum, for all you do!
I donated design services, editing, illustrations, and art direction to My Tío’s Pulse, a collaborative children’s book project (20 artists) that benefited victims of the 2016 Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooting. The project was created, written and promoted by Keith Newhouse.
During our time living on Orlando, Florida, I gave lots of time to the Page 15 summer camp program. I drew for the kids, made them laugh, and inspired them to write their own stories. I also donated books. Page 15 is a nonprofit dedicated to enriching Central Florida’s cultural landscape by developing and growing educational and creative literary arts programs. Julia Young, you are a rock star!

P.S. I am on the lookout for a similar situation here in NYC!
Schools and libraries are happy to have me living close to them. They get lots of donated books for the kids!
