All My Titles (2002-Present)

140 books and counting!

My book career started in spring 2001 when I got the call from Dutton Children’s Books to illustrate The Day My Runny Nose Ran Away and, just a week later, from Holiday House for The Confe$$ion$ and $ecret$ of Howard J. Fingerhut. What a welcome surprise!

The goal had always been to write and illustrate my own books, but I quickly realized I didn’t actually know how to write children’s books yet. So I got to work learning.

Over time, I pulled together everything I loved—writing, drawing, lettering, character design, color, storyboarding, book design and humor—into one creative vision. I’ve been lucky to work with incredible publishers, editors, and art directors on books as both illustrator and author/illustrator. Along the way there have been successes, awards, hard lessons, out-of-print titles, and lots of growth. More than anything, I’m grateful I get to build worlds, tell stories, and hopefully inspire readers along the way. See if there are any books you recognize!
