Chamelia (TV series in development!)

The Chameleon who Loves to Stand Out!

Meet Chamelia, the irrepressible chameleon who refuses to blend in—a spirited star for fans of bold personalities like Olivia and Fancy Nancy.

While most chameleons are known for disappearing into the background, Chamelia prefers standing out front and center. She loves attention, sparkles with confidence, and isn’t afraid to shine. But when always stealing the spotlight starts leaving others in the dark, Chamelia must learn that friendship sometimes means sharing the stage.

With zippy text and playful collage illustrations built from high-fashion fabrics and textures, Ethan Long created a bright, energetic world that celebrates individuality while gently exploring social dynamics and interpersonal skills for young readers.

What began as a two-book series soon evolved into something much bigger. Chamelia caught the attention of Technicolor who developed the heck out of it. We came remarkably close to a TV contract with Nick UK and although that deal ultimately didn’t move forward, the project never lost its spark.

After interest at Technicolor began to slow, Steven Wendland (formerly of Technicolor) personally acquired the rights and partnered with me to continue developing the property for television. We are currently exploring new opportunities and conversations with potential buyers, and Chamelia remains very much alive as an animation property. We still believe she belongs on screen—it’s simply a matter of finding the right home at the right time. Fingers crossed!
