All My Titles!
2001 marked the joyful launch of my children’s book career, but it was a hard launch. I was in the early stages of learning how to write so there were lots of growing pains. Over time, with lots of sweat and tears, I pulled together everything I’d learned over my lifelong creative journey and shaped it into a single creative vision. I became author, illustrator, letterer, character designer, colorist, storyboarder, and logo designer—all in one.
But more than just making books, I get to build whole worlds, champion ideas I believe in, and do whatever it takes to bring stories to life in the most vibrant way possible. The best part is that I get draw, write, and make people laugh!
Even with the support of editors, art directors, and marketers, I’m constantly refining the work—shaping the language for the right age group, pushing the humor, and making sure the characters feel alive and memorable. There are a lot of moving parts, but that’s what makes the process so rewarding!
I’ve worked on many books as both illustrator and author/illustrator with a multitude of publishers. Along the way there have been successes, awards, even out-of-print titles, and so many incredible lessons learned. Browse the covers below and see if you recognize any!
